One weekend 2019

This winter, the student ministry of Church at the Cross will host its first ever One Weekend, formerly known as Disciple Now. The life of the average teenager is incredibly busy. A thousand different things are calling for your attention and devotion from a million different directions. A time away for you to spend intentionally communing with God and hanging out with your friends is extremely valuable. One Weekend is absolutely packed full of fun! Frequently Asked Questions

What about the cost?

The investment for One Weekend is $75, and trust me... it will be worth every penny! The $75 goes towards everything that you will need for your three days and two nights at One Weekend. Be sure you go ahead and register. No deposit is required. Register now and pay later. If at all possible, we want to help remove every barrier you may be facing to join us at One Weekend 2019. This includes a possible financial barrier. For questions regarding scholarships and grants, please do not hesitate to reach out to Minister to Students, James Sercey by clicking the “Contact James” button.

What if my teenager can only attend a portion of One Weekend 2019?

Not a problem at all! All we ask is that a parent attends the Parent Meeting (see above) and fills out a “Time Away” card. This will ensure that the student ministry team and the parent(s) are on the same page regarding when exactly we can expect to have your teenager at One Weekend. If you have any questions about how your teenagers time away may effect his or her total cost, please do not hesitate contacting James Sercey by clicking the “Contact James” button above. We want to help remove any barrier your teenager may be facing to joining everybody at One Weekend!

Where will my teenager be staying for the two nights during One Weekend 2019?

One of the unique aspects of One Weekend is that is an overnight local retreat. Your teenager will be at a Host Home on Friday and Saturday nights with a similar-grade/same-gender group. Your teenager’s safety being one of our highest priorities, we have strict guidelines and restrictions as to who we use as a Host Home. All of our Host Homes are provided by Covenant Members of Church at the Cross, with every adult in the household completing and passing a background check. If you have any questions or concerns about Host Homes, please do not hesitate in email Minister to Students, James Sercey by clicking the “Contact James” button.
