WHAT IS ADVENT?
Advent is the season of expectant waiting for the celebration of Jesus’ arrival at Christmas and preparing for his return at the Second Coming. The season of Advent is the four Sundays leading up to Christmas Day.
Advent marks a moment and season of time given to expecting and waiting for what’s to come, preparing our homes and our hearts for Christmas joy. It marks the beginning of the Church calendar, an annual rhythm of the Gospel that the Church has lived by for centuries.
During Advent, we remember the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the coming of the Word of God himself, who also in the beginning had made all things out of nothing. It could only have been Jesus, the only one who could bring the corruptible to incorruption. We remember how the God who made the heavens and the earth became flesh and lived among us - Emmanuel, God with us.
ADVENT GUIDE
It is our hope that during this busy season you can use this simple Advent guide to help your family rest in the hope, peace, love and joy that can be ours through Jesus and recognize that we indeed are still waiting for His coming again.
There is a card for each of the four Sundays of Advent and one for Christmas Day. The cards provide opportunities for your family to read, pray, sing and reflect as you enjoy the light of each day’s candle. (Each day’s song can be found on the KATC Spotify account.)

ADVENT OFFERING
Every Advent season, we invite our church family to give above and beyond their normal offering as we reflect the generosity God has shown us. This year’s Advent Offering will support our Mercy Fund and Global Church Planting, including the International Mission Board, helping extend Christ’s compassion and strengthen the church in places where it’s rarely seen.
We’ll be receiving contributions to the Advent offering throughout the Christmas season and into the New Year. If you'd like to give to this fund, simply indicate “Advent Offering” on your check or select it from the dropdown menu online. As we celebrate the grace we’ve been given, let's joyfully reflect that grace to others.
