Meet the Schutzas
Genna and I grew up in H-E-B and in elementary school we became next door neighbors. We went to Trinity High School and started dating my senior year. We dated through college attending the University of North Texas and married in 2013. We both worked in education for 6 years and loved our jobs. Until in 2017, I began to have a growing desire to preach the gospel and sensed the Lord’s call to ministry. The following year, Pastor JR offered me an opportunity to enter the pastoral residency at CATC to be developed for ministry and a new chapter for our family began. For the past four years, I’ve joyfully served as the Alpha Director & Young Adults minister at CATC.
In the last eight years we’ve had four children, changed careers, completed a masters and adjusted to a new way of life. Needless to say, our life has been fast paced but we’ve been surrounded by a wonderful community that has helped us every step of the way. We feel prepared, grateful and eager to move into this next adventure knowing the Lord has called us, he’s gone before us and our church family is with us
Meet Rah Jacob
I grew up in the greater Chicago area alongside my beautiful parents and siblings before heading to the cornfields of Ohio where I would spend the next 9 years of my life. I attended Cedarville University where I obtained a Bachelors degree in Business Marketing and a Masters degree in Business Administration. Early in my career I fell in love with leadership and strategic marketing. By God's grace, I have had opportunities to create and execute many 360º strategic omni-channel marketing campaigns with nation wide reach. I moved to Texas the summer of 2022 for a job with an advertising agency called RAPP Worldwide leading work for my client PNC Bank.
Since moving to Texas, the best part about the move has been attending Church at the Cross and serving in the Young Adults Ministry with Casey Schutza. Through my increasing desire to see lost people hear more about the ultimate hope of Christ and through many conversations with Casey about church planting and evangelism, it was clear the Lord brought me to Texas to help plant Renewal City Church in Celina, TX. It has been beautiful to see how the Lord has providentially orchestrated my life in the last decade to plant this desire in my heart and give me the tools for this type of work. I am eager to see what He does in the city of Celina!
