Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of 21 Days of Prayer for Alpha!

Community is a huge part of Alpha. Today we are praying for deep and authentic community to form at the tables.

Scripture: 1 John 1:7-10

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Prayer Prompt: Pray that safe, supportive, authentic community would be able to form within the tables. Pray that people would feel able to be transparent with their perspectives to get to deeper matters. Pray against gossip or hostility within the tables and in their place, love and honesty. Gossip is the biggest killer of authenticity. Pray that the Spirit would guard the hearts of all who sit at these table so they can be safe places for open and honest conversations.
