Plan Your Visit
New to Church at the Cross? That's wonderful! We know it can be difficult trying a new place out for Christmas. We'd like to do everything we can to get you the answers you're looking for. A great place to start is to visit our ‘I’m New’ page. You'll find helpful info about parking, what we have to offer for kids and students, as well as what our gatherings are normally like.
What is Advent?
Advent, derived from "adventus" meaning "arrival," encompasses the four Sundays preceding Christmas, symbolizing anticipation for Jesus' birth and readiness for His Second Coming. This season marks the start of the Church calendar, prompting believers to engage in a timeless gospel rhythm.
Advent focuses on Jesus' incarnation, emphasizing the divine act of God becoming flesh as Emmanuel, God with us. It encourages a deliberate slowing down to connect with the authentic hope, love, and joy embodied in Jesus' gift. During this time, homes and hearts prepare for Christmas joy while acknowledging the profound significance of Jesus' arrival and the expectation of His return.
