Trips
/Taking a trip to serve a mission partner is such a powerful way for CATC members to see the gospel ministry that is taking place around the globe. In this past year, we sent teams to locations such as Japan, Ecuador and Utah.
In the fall of last year, a small team of members traveled to Tokyo and Osaka in Japan to see the great work of a church-planting network in Japan. The trip was in many ways a vision trip in that many of the members have expressed interest in doing gospel ministry in Japan one day. It was incredibly encouraging to visit the churches that have been planted there but also striking to know how many more churches are needed in such an unreached nation like Japan. We are expectant to see how God leads and guides these trip members in the years to come.
In March, a team traveled to Ecuador to visit the Compassion center that was launched in 2021 using funds raised from CATC and Dallas Chinese Bible Church. The project is an educational development center that coincides with a church plant. Over 250 children and their families are served through this center, and our team was truly inspired by the gospel intentionality of the project. Trip members were also able to meet and visit with their sponsored children. What a unique opportunity for all involved! We plan to send teams to this site for many years to come.
Our students also shared in the trips action this year. They traveled to Farmington, UT to serve alongside our church plant, King’s Cross Church. KCC was planted in this town that is overwhelmingly Mormon. CATC students served to host a VBS program for the community. This type of activity is such a great way to engage Mormon families. The trip also served to give our students a deeper understanding of the need for the gospel in the heart of the Mormon culture of Utah.
Trips like these enable us to serve our long-term partners AND give trip members a greater sense of how their lives might be used for the mission of God. We encourage you to consider going on a trip with us soon!
