Women
/The Women’s Ministry at Church at the Cross exists to encourage and equip women in every season of life to encounter Jesus together. We gather to build one another up in the faith, grow in our love for God’s Word, and represent Christ in the places and relationships where He has placed us.
Over the past year, our theme was “Walking in Wisdom,” as we studied the book of James through three Gather events in August, December, and May. Each Gather brought women together for a meal, conversation, worship, and biblical teaching from women within our own church body.
This year also marked the launch of our Women’s Bible Class, part of CATC Training. In the fall, we studied Ruth, and in the spring, we walked through 1 John. Each study was designed to help women grow in confidence in reading, understanding, and applying Scripture through sound Bible study methods.
We also hosted two Women’s Serve Days, where women created care packages to support Life Task Force ministries, including foster and adoptive families, Care Portal recipients, and staff at Health for Her and Rescue Hill. We also wrote notes of encouragement to our missionaries serving around the world.
In August, we hosted our Sweeter than Honey Women’s Conference to launch this year’s theme: Delighting in God’s Word. More than 160 women gathered to study Psalm 119, hear from guest worship leader and speaker Caroline Cobb, and enjoy rich fellowship with one another.
During the summer, as Life Groups and Discipleship Groups paused, about 80 women participated in Summer Groups. These small groups met weekly for fellowship, prayer, and book discussions on topics such as evangelism, missions, humility, the Ten Commandments, and systematic theology.
We are incredibly thankful for the gifted and godly women who serve and lead within our church. We invite you to join us in the year ahead as we continue to encounter Jesus and build one another up in love.
