Puerto Rico 2021

SEND Relief (part of North American Mission Board) has a significant presence on the island of Puerto Rico. CATC sent a nine-person team to be a part of the remarkable work that is happening there. Our team served alongside a NAMB supported Puerto Rican church as well as an adoption agency known as Adoptando en Puerto Rico.
In both situations, it was evident to see God’s faithfulness in building his church in Puerto Rico. There is a strong cultural reluctance to adopt and foster on the island. To combat this cultural trend and to get children into healthy Christian homes, Adoptando is standing strong as a gospel witness to the power of adoption.
The agency is currently facilitating adoptions but has grand visions of also functioning as an orphanage/transition house for children in need of adoption or fostering. Our team served the ministry by helping clean out their building. They plan to renovate a section of the building into an apartment to house a host family.
Additionally, our team was able to see the tangible results of the generosity of you who gave from Church at the Cross. Funds over the past few years through ministry like the Easter Renewal Offering are being used to build housing for future teams to come and serve Adoptando.
God was so gracious to allow our team to go and visit the lovely people of Puerto Rico. Stay tuned for more trips in the near future!
