He gives us this sweet opportunity to work alongside Him and other believers to strengthen, encourage, and grow the church. Forming a Relationship

Jason had been anticipating his baptism day; however, this wasn’t his first time being baptized. As an infant, his parents made a commitment to the Lord to bring him up with an understanding of the gospel as revealed through the Bible and made this promise through the sign of baptism. When he was old enough, he participated in a two-year confirmation process that culminated with a public profession of faith and acceptance of the gospel. From the outsider's perspective, he was on the right religious path; however, his heart had not yet fully grasped the grace offered to him by Jesus.

“When I hear in the Bible about Jesus eating with sinners and calling us to love the least of these, I see in my mind the women that I get to spend every day with. They struggle with basic life tasks and are heavily burdened by years of extreme trauma and sins done by them or against them. Seeing them encounter God and be transformed during their time living in our safe house is a tangible reminder of the power of the Gospel.”

A Great Pursuit

As he continued his pursuit of knowledge, he began reading the Bible to learn more about its foundational influence on Western Culture. Two years later, a significant relationship ended. He found himself profoundly aware of that missing element in his life. He dropped out of grad school and was in a state of poor mental health.
